It's been quite a while since I posted here as I've gotten sucked into Facebook. But, some of my friends are very resistant to joining Facebook so I've decided to keep putting a few posts here so we can keep in touch.
I hope September is treating you well. I felt very privileged to be at two conventions in the midwest at Boyden, Iowa and Utica, South Dakota. They were wonderful, helpful days and now it is good to be back in Laramie. Jana just arrived yesterday so we are getting acquainted and settled. I'm sure it will be a busy year.
Some have asked how my mom is doing since her surgery in July so I thought I should share that she is making a complete recovery and chomping at the bit to be able to do a bit more. The doctor told her to lie low for 3 months. If you know my mom you know that 3 months is a very long time for her to be immobile and inactive! So, October 1st is her release date and she is ready!
The photo I posted below is of the windmill outside Willis and Kathy Williams' home on the Double 8 ranch in Elk Mountain, WY. It's a typical sight here in this state known for it's wind. I was glad for a few days there before I left for conventions and hope to have a few more now and then throughout the coming year. While I was there Orlinda took me out to spot elk one cold windy evening. We were in luck and on the slideshow to the right there are a couple of shots I managed to get. It was late enough in the evening and we were at quite a distance so they didn't turn out real great but....I hope to see more before the Rut is over.
Thanks for keeping in touch and for checking in now and then. Hope you enjoy a lovely indian summer for the next 2 or 3 months! :)
Happy 45th anniversary

Hi Dorlene. You don't know me from Adam, but I kind of know you a little bit since you shared a bit of your testimony at Boyden. I wanted to thank you for sharing it as it was just what I needed to hear to give me a kick in the seat of the pants regarding how I pray for other family members. To give you a frame of reference of "who" I am... Heidi P. (in ND) is my baby sister. I only think you may know her as I saw you listed as a friend on her Facebook account. Shawn P. is my oldest little brother (married to Koral L.). I only think you may know her as I see her brothers smiling face in your post above. Anywayz... fun to take a peek at you via blogland.
